The host spent substantial time on Monday’s show ranting about the transparent ignorance in a Colbert clip he tweeted out over the weekend.  In the clip, Colbert and Chris Hayes discuss the 1/6 hearings as if they were a new development in democracy, absent all the messy, and untelegenic, debate and argument.  Their comments, as the host noted quite energetically, ignore the fact that our system is adversarial by design and that the absence of such adversity renders this committee inherently undemocratic.  The host described the clip as he presented it on Twitter as “unintentionally, quite revealing.”
