This week, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on protecting law enforcement, I denounced the liberal groups and politicians who are promoting the defund police movement.

I expressed my outrage over the promotion of a movement called “ACAB” which stands for “All Cops Are Bastards.” This kind of rhetoric is dangerous, and the concerted effort to demonize and defund the police needs to stop.

It’s why I was proud to introduce the Protect and Serve Act, legislation that would create federal penalties for individuals who deliberately target local, state, or federal law enforcement officers with violence. 

I will never hesitate to stand up for our brave men and women in blue.
