Fellow Georgians,
Republicans have launched an all out assault on our democracy, and it’s put people like me — a Black Congressman representing rural Georgia — in danger of losing my seat.
I’ve never faced an election challenge like this before. Can you split $10 between my campaign and The Collective PAC to defend my seat and the House majority?
We know when Republicans win, it leads to failing schools, unsafe gun laws, shuttered hospitals, and a lack of support for our rural communities. We have to keep fighting for our democracy, for unity, and for a renewed faith in the promise of America.
Simply put: it’s going to be tough.
Here in Georgia, Republicans are furious after we beat them so badly last cycle. First, they passed a shameful voter suppression bill designed to restrict access to the ballot box for poor, elderly, rural, and non-white Georgians. Then, they redrew my seat to make it harder for me to win again.
And now, national Republicans are pouring more money than they ever have into Georgia. The NRCC is attacking me constantly. The DCCC put me on their list of Frontline candidates most likely to decide the balance of the U.S. House. And both Sabato’s Crystal Ball and Insider Elections DOWNGRADED my likelihood of winning re-election.
If we can’t defend seats like mine this cycle, Democrats WILL lose the House.
