It's almost become a foregone conclusion that Democrats are headed for a tough November. We know the president’s party tends to lose power in midterm elections, but that doesn't mean we should feed the GOP narrative that the sky is falling and Democrats are to blame.

If you tune out the noise and look at the facts, Democrats are delivering for the American people, and recent polling actually shows Democrats gaining momentum in key swing seats headed into the Fall.

Here are some recent developments I have my eye on:

Republicans jumped at the chance to blame Democrats for high gas prices in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Now that prices have dropped sharply, Republicans are left without their favorite talking point. Not only that, the American people now know full well they did absolutely nothing to ease our pain at the pump.
Republicans propose we address inflation by shrinking wages and taxing middle class families. Democrats want to invest in domestic technology and renewable energy manufacturing while cracking down on price gouging. The difference is that our approach actually works, and we'll take this argument to the American people any day of the week.

The point is this: This race isn’t even close to being over. Polls can change and we need to keep leading with our values -- because we can win them. No more doomsaying. It's time to get to work:
