Last month, the Supreme Court limited the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate carbon pollution and respond to the threat of climate change. For migratory birds like the Prairie Warbler, who are especially affected by ozone pollution, the implications of this decision could be deadly.

With the power of the executive branch severely curtailed and two in three North American bird species at increasing risk of climate extinction, the work that Audubon does is needed more than ever.

Using our proven combination of sound science, committed advocacy, and expert hands-on conservation, we're working at the state and local levels to achieve positive outcomes for birds. We’ve worked to preserve critical habitat in the Tongass National Forest, that stores nearly half of the carbon in the national forest system, ensuring progress during our climate crisis is possible—even when there is gridlock in Washington.

Climate change is the single biggest threat to birds in North America—and in light of the SCOTUS decision, we will double down on our advocacy efforts to protect birds and the places they need.
