Reporters Charlotte Alden and Ralph Schwartz ask the question that’s been on a LOT of voters’ minds: ‘Who’s giving candidates the funds that fuel their campaigns?”
Let’s follow the money.
Rick Larsen, the 22-year-incumbent and former lobbyist, gets over 60% of his funding from PACs – most of them corporate PACs.
Our campaign is 100% grassroots funded, with over 75% coming from small-dollar donors.
Our average donation is only $22. Rick’s average individual contribution is $375 – and it’s even higher when you factor in all the PAC checks.
Our donors are teachers, trade workers, baristas and frontline healthcare workers. Rick is funded by CEOs, lawyers, and lobbyists.
In a previous piece for Cascadia Daily News, Rick effectively admitted that he gets money from corporate PACs because they know he supports their agenda – and those same PACs won’t support me because they know I work for working people.
The choice is clear. I’m the ONLY candidate in this race funded by, and working for, regular working people. This Tuesday we are going to win this primary. Can you pitch in $22 today to help me take our working class movement to November, and on to Congress?
