Hi John,
In May of 2021, I announced my bid for U.S. Senate in Missouri. Now, we’re just 5 days from the August 2nd primary election.
From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to run a campaign that bucked the conventions of politics as usual.
I couldn’t buy into the strategy of churning money on FB ads to reach out-of-state donors, launching hollow slogan-based campaign promises, or “earning” the support of misinformed influencers online to win elections.
I knew that wouldn’t work – not in a state like Missouri.
Instead, I set out to build a team of some of the most innovative individuals who could help me do things differently. Since May of last year, we’ve been helping Missourians and growing a cross-generational campaign community hellbent on doing right by the people in our state.
With less than a week to go, we have the momentum to win this race. Over 500 volunteers are canvassing and making sure Missourians have a plan to vote – from STL to KC, from Joplin to Kahoka, from Cape to St. Joe, and every town in between.
While my opponents are fighting with each other and begging you to give $3 to flip MO, I’m checking in to see if you have a plan to vote.
The polls will be open on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 6:00 AM TO 7:00 PM, and if you’re not sure where you vote, you can find your polling location at this link: https://spencertoder.com/vote
Ask yourself: What time of day will I go vote? Will I vote before work or after? Will I walk, drive, bike, or use public transportation to get to my polling location? Will I ask anyone to go with me? Do I have a valid form of ID?
According to the Secretary of State’s website, the following are acceptable forms of identification to cast your ballot:
Identification issued by the state of Missouri, an agency of the state, or a local election authority of the state;
Identification issued by the United States government or agency thereof;
Identification issued by an institution of higher education, including a university, college, vocational and technical school, located within the state of Missouri; or
A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government documents that contain the name and address of the voter.
We can win this race, but I need you with me. My ask of you today isn’t for money.
As I mentioned, we have HUNDREDS of volunteers out in the field talking to voters, and each day, our movement for a better Missouri is growing.
I hope I can count on you to talk to just three people in your network about your voting plans. And if you’ve decided to support my candidacy, I ask that you urge your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to join you.
Everyone in Missouri deserves representation that shows up for them, and you can count on me to make ALL voices heard in Washington.
We're flipping this state Blue, house by house, acre by acre – and I couldn’t do this without you.
Thank you, and I hope I can count on your vote next Tuesday. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might find this information helpful as they make their plan to vote.
More updates soon,
Spencer
