John -- in a moment, I'm going to ask you for a $3 donation to flip CA-45 from red to blue. These past few weeks have underscored how crucial this race will be, so I hope you’ll let me explain why your donation is so important.
» After redistricting, CA-45 swung from a +6.5% Republican district to a +5% Democratic district. This Democratic-leaning district is flippable, and one of our best chances to go on offense in November.
» Election forecasters are now saying this race will be a toss-up come November. According to publications like Politico and KPBS, Michelle Steel’s extreme, anti-choice votes could mean she's headed for a highly competitive election that “could tip power in Congress."
» This month, our race was identified as one of a handful of races that Democrats “must win” to protect the House Majority. The good news is that we’ve already begun our outreach efforts to undecided voters in this district.
» Far-right super PACs have already begun dumping cash into CA-45 to influence the outcome of this race. To date, a Kevin McCarthy-aligned super PAC has already committed $1.7 million in TV ads to attack me and bolster my opponent.
This race is becoming one of the most consequential in the country, which means every single fundraising deadline is important -- so I'm asking:
Can you make a $3 contribution to help us meet our end-of-month fundraising goal? My team tells me we're still $15,361 short of our target, and every contribution -- no matter the size -- will help us maintain the momentum we need.

While there are many unknowns between now and the election, what I do know is that there’s too much at stake to give an extremist like Michelle Steel another term in office. But I can’t flip this seat alone.
Thanks in advance – your support means the world to me.
