Dear John,

Today is International Human Rights Day.

On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR): a milestone document you probably recognize which proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
Human Rights
But how are we doing more than 70 years later? And how are companies that work in sectors with higher than normal human rights violations addressing human rights violations?

Find out in our latest blog: Getting Corporate Human Rights Regulations Right Means Finding a “Smart Mix” where Anthony Toppi, a manager of the Ceres Company Network, discusses how the majority of companies surveyed haven’t started to meaningfully address human rights issues.

Read about how some companies are stepping forward and voluntarily disclosing their efforts on human rights, and encouraging other corporations to do the same. And how voluntary disclosures paired with a good mix of regulations can help ensure respect for human rights becomes standard operating procedure across the corporate world.
Thank you,
