** July Newsletter 📰
------------------------------------------------------------
Hi John!

My name is Estefanía Hermosillo, and I am the Culture and Belonging Lead at Immigrants Rising. My journey with Immigrants Rising dates back to 2016 when I started as an outreach ambassador. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of presenting to over 10,000 students, parents, teachers, and community members on how to overcome systemic barriers. Being formerly undocumented myself, I am determined to empower undocumented people to have what they want in life.

With summer in full swing, I know that we all have traveling and vacation on our minds. Last year, I participated in Immigrants Rising’s Advance Parole storytelling project where I shared the story of how my sister and I reunited with our father in Mexico for the first time in 16 years. That trip was also how I was able to secure a lawful entry into the U.S., which in turn allowed me to adjust my status. I hope that these kinds of resources and projects, coming from a place of authentic lived experiences, help to inspire and empower our communities to keep aspiring for more.

Thanks for all you do!
Estefanía
