I just finished a call with my digital team, and they gave me an update on our grassroots fundraising goal for July. We knew raising money this month would be a challenge – people are soaking up the sun and enjoying the fleeting days of summer with their families. And that means they’re spending less time online checking their emails. (I can’t say I blame them!)

However, our numbers are looking good, and it looks like we will reach our end-of-month fundraising benchmark as early as this evening.

I’m a goal setting kind of person, but when I find I set a goal too low, you know I change it (enneagram 3 energy here, if you’re into that stuff). While waiting for my kid to finish basketball practice this morning, I ran the track at the school. I squeeze in what I can between campaign & kid stuff! My goal was 2 miles. I finished 2, he wasn’t done yet, so I bumped the goal to 2.5. I got to 2.62 miles before he got out! Woot! Don’t ask how fast I ran it, that part isn’t important.

So, because I’m a little extra like that, I want to bump the goal by an additional $5k so we can place that bulk order of yard signs AND start mapping out our mailers on Monday morning.

So, I’m reaching out to *everyone* I can think of to help us crush our new July goal. (Yourself included!)
