JOHN,
It is time gun manufacturers put people over profits.
Gun manufacturers have the capacity to implement life-saving measures and reduce the rate of gun violence deaths, yet they would rather focus on increasing profits.
Over the last 10 years, gun manufacturers have seen revenues of over $1 billion. Over the last 10 years, our nation has suffered from increased gun violence in all forms. It’s time we demand accountability.
During yesterday’s Oversight Committee hearing, my colleagues and I demanded CEOs of these gun companies explain their justification for their sales and marketing of AR-15 style rifles as countless Americans suffer as a result of their products.
However, these gun manufacturers are not simply selling harmless products to consumers. They are promoting extremely deadly weapons of war to civilians, and evading the consequences while reaping the monetary benefits.
Our neighborhoods, schools, supermarkets, and even places of worship are scathed by the reckless reality of the gun industry. These weapons are engineered to be used on the battlefield — yet they have permeated and endangered all aspects of our daily lives.
Gun manufacturers are refusing to take responsibility for how their harmful products have ruined lives. Yet they implement marketing tactics that appeal to White supremacists, mimic fantasy video games, and prey on the masculinity of young men.
Smith & Wesson, Daniel Defense, and Sturm, Ruger, & Co. will continue to profit off of our broken system until permanent change is implemented.
I am demanding these gun manufacturers finally put our nation’s lives first — life is invaluable to the cost of a gun.
JOHN, we cannot allow this carnage to go on any longer. Please chip in $10 right now to support my mission for accountability and reason:
