Terrible Trump History Putin Edition Periodically, the researchers at Never Again PAC will be sending reminders of how close our democracy came to failing. We call this series This Day in Terrible Trump History, and each one will highlight an event we should never forget and never allow to happen again. Today, we wanted to take a look at not just one day of Trump-induced shame but at the early days of his relationship with international war criminal Vladimir Putin. July 31, 2015- Donald Trump was adamant he and Putin would become peas in a pod. December 18, 2015- Donald Trump was defending Vladimir Putin's gross abuse of human rights. Later on in 2015, he would defend Putin's murder of journalists. February 17, 2016- Putin would go on to fervently praise Trump, even calling him a genius. Despite calls from the international community to disavow this statement, Donald would bask in the flattery and even reaffirm his admiration for Putin. July 28, 2016- Despite signaling the complete opposite, at a rally on July 28, 2016, Trump promised that he would be firm with Putin. In the same event, he would also refuse to call on Putin to stay out of the election and refuse to get tough on Putin. The impact of a bad leader reverberates years and even generations after their time in office has passed. The administration of Donald Trump has already done massive damage to our country.
