Hi Friend,
Earlier this week, the Uvalde CISD School Board unanimously voted on a resolution calling on Governor Abbott to convene a special legislative session to raise the minimum age of purchasing an assault rifle from 18 to 21.
The Uvalde community has spoken, and it’s time Greg Abbott finally listens.
Friend, since the day we lost 19 students and 2 teachers at Robb Elementary, Abbott hasn’t stopped for one moment to listen to the pain the Uvalde community is feeling. He can’t hear their pleas for change over the NRA lobbyists in his ear.
Raising the age to buy an assault rifle from 18 to 21 is the absolute bare minimum we can do to bring some semblance of justice after the horror at Robb Elementary.
We’ve waited on action from our feckless Governor for too long. The only way we can ensure the safety of our children is by electing enough Democrats in November to pass the life-saving gun reform Texans deserve.
Friend, will you chip in $7 now so our kids can feel safe in the classroom again?

The Texas Democratic Party -- joining the Uvalde school board -- is reiterating our call on Governor Abbott to bring our legislators back to Austin and pass life-saving gun reform.
Our children go back to school in a matter of weeks. This cannot wait any longer.
Adelante,
Gilberto Hinojosa
