John — After multiple offensive
comments from Trudy Busch Valentine — Lucas’ top primary opponent — about
the LGBTQ+ community, Trudy is now refusing to speak to LGBTQ+ media.

Here’s what Christopher Wiggins, reporter at The Advocate, the oldest and
largest LGBTQ+ newspaper in the country, had to say about it:

Busch Valentine campaign spokesperson told me Trudy wasn't available for
an interview but that they would get me written answers to questions.
After I submitted questions, they declined to answer them. But Lucas Kunce
spoke with me. Second tweet from Christopher Wiggins that reads: Instead,
they sent me a canned statement that I've seen before in other
publications from the Busch Valentine campaign. I replied and asked if the
statement would be followed by answers to my questions and I was told no.

Magazine, I wrote about the Missouri Senate Primary in which Democrat and
beer heiress Trudy Busch Valentine doesn't appear to understand LGBTQ+
issues and her opponent, fellow frontrunner, Lucas Kunce, does.

This comes after Trudy has dumped MILLIONS of dollars from her personal
fortune into attack ads against Lucas Kunce that FALSELY claim he doesn’t
support the LGBTQ+ community.

We can’t afford to let another Joe-Manchin-style politician like Trudy
take away our chance to flip this U.S. Senate seat. Missourians deserve a
warrior who will fight for them — no matter who they love or how they
identify.

Lucas knows it’s dangerous to deny access to care for the nearly one third
of trans youth who are at risk of losing it in Missouri and across the
country. We need a senator who will fearlessly fight to protect the rights
of all LGBTQ+ people and stand up to Republican attacks against them.
