Against all odds, I believe I've helped our Border Patrol Agents get some of the much-needed assistance they deserve. Shortly after the Nov. 2016 election, I sent a letter to Border Congressman Henry Cuellar (because my opponent, and his buddy, Vicente Gonzalez was not yet sworn in).
Simply stated, it was to help free our Border Patrol Agents by getting authorization for lower level (entry) G.S. Worker to process illegal immigrants. Although I did not hear back from Congressman Cuellar, I see that he put forth an Appropriations bill, which almost mirrored my request. (View my letter sent to him Dec. 2016 and his press release June 2019 in link below.)
Although getting credit for this bill would be appropriate, I knew when I forwarded the idea, it was not likely. My greatest concern after the election was still our Agents / Border Security! So, I am thankful that the role I played has yielded results. The result is our agents got their much needed help, and that is what is most important!
If I could contribute game-changing / winning ideas before I get to Congress, imagine how much more impactful I can be if I can take the other 40+ ideas I have to Washington! I believe we can be more effective in working strategically (even across party lines when necessary) to get things done for "We The People..."!
Alone we may fail, but together....
