Folks, can I quickly explain something?

I was never “cool” growing up. I was the skinny kid with Coke-bottle glasses and a funny last name. For years, I was a geologist. Then, I got laid off and opened a brewpub in downtown Denver. I play the banjo. And I like to make corny jokes (personally, I think they’re hilarious).

It’s clear I’m not your typical politician. I wandered into politics because I believed I could make a difference. I was sick and tired of special interests taking advantage of everyday Americans, so I decided to do something about it.

Because of that, we do things a little differently around here. Instead of relying on wealthy billionaires to fund our work to protect our Democratic Senate majority, we depend on hardworking folks like you to power everything we do.
