Today’s the day.

Right now, our massive newspaper ad is calling out the AVMA for allowing the meat and egg industries to roast millions of animals alive.

Can you help us drive home the message? Here are three quick actions:

1. Tweet the ad and tag @AVMAVets [[link removed]]
2. Have your say on social media [[link removed]] (or, send a quick email [[link removed]])
3. Make a donation, if you are able [[link removed]]

Thank you for being a part of this!

Vicky

We have a message for the AVMA: Live animals don’t belong in ovens.

When the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) gave its stamp of approval to Ventilation Shutdown Plus (VSD+), they sealed the fate of millions of animals—pigs, turkeys, and chickens—who have since been deliberately suffocated and left to die of heat stroke in factory farms across the US.

Today, the devastating effects of this decision are on full display: As bird flu spreads, the US poultry industry is now using VSD+ as a cheap way to dispose of live animals at an unprecedented scale—with the AVMA’s blessing.

Despite the escalating crisis, the AVMA is refusing to meet with veterinarians and animal welfare groups who are calling for more humane alternatives. They’re ignoring us. They’re ignoring you. They’re ignoring the cries of millions of suffering animals. Well, here’s one thing the AVMA can’t ignore: A massive newspaper ad that will hit Philadelphia—right in time for its prestigious national convention in the city.

Later this week, hundreds of thousands of Philadelphians will be met with this bold newspaper ad as the AVMA brings its national convention to their city.

As the AVMA heads into its big event, we need to get animals on the agenda. Are you in?
There are three things you can do today that will have a big impact:

- Share our ad on Twitter and tag @AVMAVets [[link removed]]
- Have your say on social media [[link removed]] (not on social media? Try sending this email instead: [[link removed]])
- Make a donation to support our work to end the abuse of animals raised for food [[link removed]]

As a veterinarian myself, I don’t believe anyone becomes a vet because they want to hurt animals. But the reality is the AVMA has bowed to the interests of factory farms—and needs to know it has community support to stand up for animals. Thank you for taking action with us this week. And thank you for helping to end the horror of VSD+.

For the animals,

Vicky Bond
President

P.S. If you know someone who cares about animals, and would be horrified to learn that the AVMA is enabling the meat and egg industries to roast animals alive—please share this campaign with them today. [[link removed]] This week, the animals need everyone on their side!
