Dear Friend,
Applications for the 2021 Speechwriters Fellowship have been EXTENDED to Friday, August 5, 2022.
The dates for the 2022 Speechwriters Fellowship are: October 7-10.
We welcome applications from past, current, or aspiring speechwriters in the areas of politics, federal & state government, business, tech, and several other fields.
Founded in 2017, the Claremont Speechwriters Fellowship combines an education in the principles of the American Founding with a study of modern political speech craft.
Applications are now open for the Fall 2022 Speechwriters Fellowship.
From October 7-10, fellows will engage in a theoretical and rhetorical study of the dominant political themes that continue to animate the American political debate today: America’s founding principles, natural law, equality, American identity, globalism, multiculturalism, identity politics, and the administrative state—all with the aim of equipping fellows with the tools for a robust defense of the American Way of Life.
Classes will be led by a combination of Claremont scholars and former presidential speechwriters.
Application deadline is Friday, August 5.
Past fellows include speechwriters for President Donald J Trump, chief speechwriters for the Secretaries of Treasury, State, Justice, Defense, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, as well as speechwriters for members of the Leadership in both the House and Senate. View the complete list of the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 fellows.
As Abraham Lincoln wisely observed, “Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it, nothing can succeed.” This program is created for the purpose of providing the missing argument in the battle to win public sentiment by teaching and promoting the principled reasoning of our Founding and the statesmanship required to vindicate that reasoning in public speech and, ultimately, in practice.
As always, thank you for your support in making this program—and all of our programs—a success.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, please contact Annalyssa Lee: [email protected].
