Hi John,

Today is International Human Rights Day -- a day to honor the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations.

It’s been 71 years since this document declared that everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of personhood. And yet, we still live in constant fear that we will be shot in our classrooms, places of worship, shopping malls, and homes.

This isn’t what those who came before us fought for. Our right to life is threatened every day -- and our nation’s lack of sensible gun safety laws is to blame.

We have a right not to be shot. We have a right not to be known as Generation Lockdown. We have a right to live without the threat of daily violence. And we are going to fight for those rights.

That is why we introduced the Peace Plan. We need a bold, comprehensive plan that actively and unapologetically fights for and defends our right not to be shot. Our plan lays out a series of effective policy measures elected officials could implement right now to end the gun violence epidemic and restore our right to life.

Sign onto the Peace Plan in honor of International Human Rights Day.

We will not sit aside and fear for our lives. We will fight for our future and for all those who will take our place, as it is our basic, universal, human right.

Donate to support our efforts in 2020 as we fight for our human right not to be shot.

In solidarity,
Eve Levenson

P.S. The NRA was just subpoenaed by the New York Attorney General again -- remember the letter we sent that inspired this investigation? Look forward to learning all the details toward the end of the month.
