Friend –
Yesterday, a second candidate announced to run against me in
2020.
Like my first opponent, she lacks any experience managing
elections. More concerning, her political motivation for running
demonstrates a strong partisan bias.
She says that she wants to make Washington a national leader in
elections security, but I’ve got good news: we already are!
I’m proud that election-security
experts have ranked Washington as a national leader in security
and accessibility. We’ve done a lot of important work together, but
it’s essential that we prevent partisan politics from poisoning our
elections system.
This announcement comes at a critical time. At the end of this
week, I will be prohibited from fundraising for the duration of the
legislative session. You can bet that my opponents are spending this
week fundraising furiously, and so am I!
I know I have asked a lot from you lately, but we only have 3 more
days to collect campaign donations this year. If
you haven't already donated, please send an urgent donation
today!
We’ve kept Washington’s elections secure, non-partisan, and trusted
for the past eight years. With
your help, we are going to keep that streak going!
All the best,
Kim
