Dear Friend,
Two years ago this week, the FCC voted to repeal Net Neutrality. From the beginning, I’ve stood with the vast majority of the American people in opposing this misguided plan by the FCC. Back in 2018, I helped force a vote to stop the Trump Administration’s repeal of Net Neutrality, which passed the Senate but was ultimately defeated in the then-GOP-controlled House of Representatives.
That fight continued today, when Senate Democrats attempted to call up the Save the Internet Act for an up-or-down vote. I’m proud to sponsor this legislation, which would reverse FCC Chairman Pai’s plan to roll back FCC Net Neutrality rules. While I’m frustrated that my colleagues across the aisle blocked this latest attempt to force a vote on Net Neutrality, I plan to keep up the fight to defend the internet from the FCC’s misguided plan.
I might be preaching to the choir, but as someone who’s been in the technology business longer than I’ve been in politics, I know the Trump Administration’s plan to repeal Net Neutrality is bad news for consumers, small businesses, and the entire internet ecosystem. I appreciate you writing me on this important issue, and I will keep you updated as these efforts continue.
If you want to share your thoughts about an issue that’s important to you, you can send me an email any time using the form on my Senate website. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
