Good morning from Washington, where bureaucrats’ intolerance of parent activism in schools is on full display. We need a Parents Bill of Rights, writes Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C. On the podcast, former Defense Secretary Mark Esper outlines why, despite China’s threats, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should go through with plans to visit Taiwan. On this date in 1868, after being ratified by three-quarters of the states, the 14th Amendment to the Constitution goes into effect, granting citizenship to former slaves or anyone else born or naturalized in the United States.
The Parents Bill of Rights would protect parents’ rights to make medical decisions for their children rather than letting schools do so. It also would let parents see what their kids are being taught.
