Are We Going Backwards?
I don't know about everyone else but lately I've been feeling stuck in a time warp. Like maybe there is a glitch in the Matrix, because what other reason does the GOP have to want to take us back in time?
This is why we are here though, this is why we are Democrats, because we want to move forward. We want what's best for our collective society not just a select few. We want to save ourselves and help heal our planet. We want to be who we are and love who we love. We want autonomy over our bodies, happiness, finances, and futures.
Change can be scary, hard -- progress can seem daunting, but we must always continue to grow and move forward that is the Democratic way.
So I just want to say thank you to everyone who reads this, volunteers, shares our wins, and continues to fight the good fight.

Dems Vote to Protect Marriage Equality and
Access to Contraception
Last week, while Democrats were working to protect same-sex and interracial marriage as well as the right to contraception, all three Colorado House Republicans voted against saving the rights of Coloradans.
Democrats in Congress are working to make sure our right to love who want and bodily autonomy remain intact as Justice Clarence Thomas argued [[link removed]] in a concurring opinion on Dobbs v Jackson that the Supreme Court “should reconsider” its past rulings codifying rights to contraception access, same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage.
Keeping a majority in Congress has never been more important.
We are working hard to make sure all of our Democratic candidates get elected!
Please share their content, follow them on social, volunteer, or donate if you can the following amazing Congressional Candidates!

HD57 Candidate: Elizabeth Velasco
[[link removed]] Hola, my name is Elizabeth Velasco. I’m a small business owner and the daughter of first generation immigrants. I’ve had the privilege of living, working, and recreating in Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield Counties for over the past 20 years. I know our community! I know our strengths and our challenges, and I have a vision of a thriving future. This is why I’m running for Colorado’s House District 57.
Help Elect Elizabeth [[link removed]] I’ve worked in many sectors of our economy, from the service industry to healthcare. From the nonprofit sector to local government. I’ve served on boards, COVID relief committees, and organizations that strive to support all members of our communities. I run a successful small business and I’m a Public Information Officer for wildland fire. These leadership roles provide me opportunities to get to know the concerns of our rural community residents. My own life experiences mirror that of many in our communities. I understand the challenges we face. We deserve equitable access to resources and opportunities. We face an uncertain present and an even more uncertain future, and I have a vision, a plan, and the skills necessary to move us into a future where we are prepared, no one is left behind, and instead of reacting to crises, we are proactive and a thriving community and economy.
Learn More About Elizabeth Here [[link removed]] When I think of the hardships my family faced 20 years ago, struggling to make ends meet, I’m sad to say that things haven’t changed much. The cost of living is so high that we can’t afford to live where we work; everyone from children to the elderly face housing insecurity. Too many of us cannot access reliable internet in an internet-dependent world. Too many of us cannot access quality, affordable health care. Economic stability is under threat as drought worsens, wildfire season intensifies, and winters shorten. The ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic disrupts our businesses and schools. We need strong leadership that truly understands our community and is willing to represent rural coloradans at the state capitol.
Together we can build a proactive, strong, resilient, and thriving future for all in House District 57. Juntos podemos, Stronger together!

SD3 State Senate Candidate: Nick Hinrichsen
Nick Hinrichsen is an Army veteran who fought in the Iraq War and served with NATO peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and the Colorado National Guard. [[link removed]]
Nick is no stranger to hard work and knows what it takes to put food on the table in Pueblo, working years of long days and nights in Pueblo's logistics industry to build a better life for his family. While also helping to raise a child with developmental challenges, Nick put in the time to earn a Masters in Public Administration at CU Denver. Help Us Keep the CO Senate [[link removed]]
Today, Nick serves as Pueblo Transit Operations Supervisor, ensuring that the transportation lifelines that sustain Pueblo's economy, workforce mobility, and senior and family living are running on time and on budget. Learn More About Nick Here [[link removed]]
In February of 2020, Nick developed the first public transit agency-wide pandemic response plan in Colorado. This plan reduced the risk of virus transmission on busses and inside public transit facilities, minimized service reductions, and ensured that there were no shutdowns throughout the duration of the pandemic. He also worked alongside other local agencies and nonprofits to help fund free rides throughout the school year for all Pueblo K-12 students.

Jan 6th Hearings Complete Recap
The final scheduled public hearing for the Jan 6th committee showed how Trump was reluctant to say the election was over and how Rep Cawley ran from the very people he was encouraging before they stormed the capitol.
