** December 6 Boston Climate Strike A Success
------------------------------------------------------------

On Dec 6 we met at Copley Square and marched to the State House to support students striking for a livable future. Similar strikes took place all around the US. It was a powerful day. Thanks to everyone who joined us to demand climate justice for all.

Divest Ed is Hiring a Director: Better Future Project is looking for a Divest Ed director to start in 2020! We need someone with a vision for the student fossil fuel divestment movement, a passion for student and youth organizing, a commitment to climate justice, and experience working with young people and partnering with other movements. Survey from the Municipal Working Group: The MWG supports 350 Mass nodes working to pass climate solutions at the municipal level. Fill out this survey ([link removed]) to support the development of the Municipal Working Group.

TODAY: Film Premiere—Telling The Stories: The Fore River Basin is home to to ten industrial facilities that release a variety of toxic pollutants. Come to a premiere of a short film led by Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station (FRRACS) about health impacts in the Fore River basin. Support Solar Workers:A group of construction workers at the NYC solar company Bright Power was fired for organizing to form a union. This would have been one of the first ever unions at a solar company. Supporting workers is an essential part of the Green New Deal. Send a letter to Bright Power's CEO Jeffrey Perlman. It's Time for Corporations to Pay Their Fair Share! Ask if Your Legislator Agrees: Big business lobbyists are pushing legislators to pass regressive taxes and fees that disproportionately affect low- and middle-income people. Contact your legislator ([link removed]) by phone or email and voice your opposition to regressive revenue and voice your support for corporations paying their fair share.
Support the Safe Communities Act: This act's hearing before the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security was rescheduled from Monday, December 2. Learn more about the act and how to support it ([link removed]) through the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Action coalition, and tell Mass legislators to support immigrant families!
