Yesterday, I filed to get on the ballot in TX-28.

This is the first time in over a decade that my opponent Henry Cuellar will have a viable primary challenger.

I believe the people of our community deserve to hear from both of us about the issues affecting their daily lives. That’s why yesterday I called on Henry Cuellar to join me for four public, town hall-style debates across our district.

Voters in every corner of our district deserve to hear from both of us.

My opponent has been absent in our district. It’s been years since he has even had a public, in-person town hall.

He’s afraid of having someone force him to answer for his record of siding with Republicans, Big Oil, the NRA and corporate interests.

He’s become a creature of Washington — an out-of-touch incumbent who’s forgotten the people he represents.

It’s time for him to answer to the people. They deserve to see both of us debating the issues all across the district.

Demand Henry Cuellar commit to having four debates across our district. This race should be about earning the support of the people of TX-28, and that means meeting them where they are and making sure they hear from us directly.

The people of South Texas are ready to have another option on the ballot — someone who they know has lived their struggles and will truly fight for them in Washington.
