Dear John,
Today is International Human Rights Day, a moment to celebrate the 71st Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and to thank you for being part of the global movement for human rights.
It's also an opportunity to act, alongside millions around the world, to defend human rights for all. With Write for Rights happening in 200 countries, including 350 events in Canada alone, we know our global call for dignity and justice for all will be heard today.
Today we're honouring and mobilizing to support young people on the frontlines of human rights change. From Grassy Narrows youth fighting for a healthy future in Canada, to Ibrahim defending human rights in Egypt, to Marinel's struggle for climate survivors in Philippines, these youth are speaking out for justice, often at great risk.
Now it's our turn to fight for them. You can help amplify their voices today, even if you only have a minute!
However you mark Human Rights Day, we hope you'll get inspired by the youth we're advocating on behalf of today! You can watch their videos and read their stories here.
You can join us today and into the new year to share their stories and help change their future.
Thank you so much for everything you do for human rights, every day! We wish you a wonderful International Human Rights Day.
Yours truly,
Alex Neve
