Webinar - Creating a Community of Care: Co-Sheltering Families and Their Pets

On August 9^th from 12-1 PM, the Institute for Children, Poverty & Homelessness will be hosting “Creating a Community of Care: Co-Sheltering Families and Their Pets,” a free webinar featuring experts from Urban Resource Institute (URI), a social service provider that has created the successful PALS (People and Animals Living Safely) shelter model.

Community Solutions

For communities in Built for Zero, ending veteran or chronic homelessness are just steps toward ending homelessness for all.

Nevada County, California, knows that no single program or person can solve homelessness on their own, so they’ve redesigned their systems to better respond to the issue. In fact, they’re in the last mile of reaching functional zero for veterans experiencing homelessness.

But once they reach that milestone for veterans, their work isn’t done. In fact, they’ve already made progress on the next target population: people experiencing chronic homelessness. This month, they achieved quality by-name data for this group.

So why do communities start with veteran or chronic homelessness?

• Register Today: Community Transitions: Creative Collaborations Move People Home: The Housing and Services Resource Center’s is sponsoring a webinar on August 4, 2022, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM EDT, featuring two panels that will discuss innovative programs two states developed in partnership with nursing homes, hospitals, and community-based organizations that have assisted 5,000+ people with settling back into homes in the community and have reduced readmissions.
