Hi John,
A lot of important votes happened in the House last week. With the Democratic majority, Congress was able to pass bills aimed at ensuring the protection of abortion rights, the possibility of interstate travel for reproductive services, marriage equality, and contraceptive access.
I am proud of every member of Congress who voted yes on these measures, however, they should have been unanimous decisions. These are rights that should not be debated nor taken away.
However, my opponent has made it clear he intends to do both. He voted against each of these measures last week.
Yes, you read that correctly. Rob Wittman voted against protected access to contraception. He voted against same-sex and interracial marriage. And he voted against women and their right to bodily autonomy.
He has made it clear exactly the type of person he is and we cannot allow him to keep voting against our community.
So, while his votes matters, ours matter more. And together, we are going to use ours to vote him out.
