Today, the House of Representatives officially filed two articles of impeachment against President Trump.

The articles make clear what we've known for some time: he broke the law and put our national security at risk for his own benefit.

This isn't about politics. Even as many of us are running to replace him next November, he still must be held accountable for breaking the law.

This is Congress's duty.

This is about removing a criminal from the office he has proven unfit to serve.

It seems that many - including most Republicans - will sadly make this a partisan process in the Senate.

We need to show Mitch McConell and his cronies that we won't let them or Trump off the hook next November.

We need Americans across the country to get off the sidelines to defeat their lawlessness. We need a nominee bold enough to stand up to Trump, and to rebuild the Obama coalition to win.
