John – the implications of this decision will be deadly.

Our nation called for swift and essential action against deadly AR-15 style weapons after they were used in mass shootings in Buffalo, Uvalde, and Highland Park – and countless others in American history. Survivors from these shootings and Brady leaders testified in support of moving these bills quickly – but we’ve just gotten word that they will not vote on this lifesaving bill this week, instead pushing it off until after August recess. This is unacceptable and irresponsible.

We cannot delay this vote – every day that we wait, more people die. Can you send an urgent message to your representative and urge them to take action right now?

Assault weapons are designed to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible – it's why they have been the weapon of choice in countless mass shootings in our country. And banning these deadly weapons works. The United States has allowed our nation to be subjected to mass shooting after mass shooting without action, while other countries have banned assault weapons and stopped more tragedy.

We have to make it absolutely clear to Congress: We need to ban assault weapons now. Please, can you send an urgent message demanding action?
