Tomorrow, the House Education and Labor Committee will hold a hearing for the Federal Domestic Worker Bill of Rights.

The hearing not only marks a HISTORIC step toward moving a National Domestic Worker Bill of Rights to the House floor for a vote, it is a testimony to the organizing power of the domestic worker movement!

NDWA Founder and President Ai-jen Poo will testify at the hearing, and our domestic worker leaders will be on the Hill rallying our elected leaders to get their support for this important legislation.

We haven’t won the battle — yet — but it’s important that we celebrate the victories along the way. That’s why we’re gathering virtually for a hearing watch party at 10:00 AM ET. Will you join us? [[link removed]]

Over the last two years we have advanced two federal pieces of legislation — historic investments in home and community-based services and the National Domestic Worker Bill of Rights — because we know BOTH are key to building an equitable economy for all.

For generations, domestic workers have been excluded from core workplace protections, experienced low wages and benefits, and unsafe working conditions, and for generations, the domestic worker movement has grown and fought hard to establish rights that would allow dignity and respect in the workplace.

Tomorrow’s hearing [[link removed]] is yet another example of the power of domestic worker organizing and a testament to supporters like you , supporters that step up each and every time we ask.

Thanks for all that you do,

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
