Nottinghamshire Pride returns to its traditional July date with a theme ?We See You,? aiming to support and celebrate the city?s LGBTQIA+ community.
The Pride march, a demonstration in support of LGBTQIA+ rights,?is always a wonderful celebration in the city. It brings visibility to our LGBTQIA+ community and encourages people to come together and embrace the diversity that Nottingham is so well known for.
The parade will start from Listergate and will wind its way to Hockley. If you wish to join the parade, please begin to gather from 10am, ready to start at 11am. Or, watch the parade in what is always a joyous, colourful and celebratory spectacle of the city's diversity.
Following the march, an eclectic line-up of Nottingham singers, dancers, speakers, performers and DJs is set to take to the stage on Heathcoat Street, with acts including? singer-songwriter Rob Green and even a Britney Spears tribute act. There?ll also be a DJ set from Charity Shop Sue and comedy from Scream Queens.
You can check out a range of information stalls at the Pride Market on Goosegate.
I?m looking forward to attending this event which I always enjoy.?

This week I wrote to Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi MP about the need for further Government action on the cost of living crisis. It is clear that in the face of ever-growing international costs and the continuing war in Ukraine that this crisis will last for some time. In Nottingham we?ve been putting people first and helping our residents for years, but we can?t continue to do this alone - Central Government has to act. It is unacceptable that as a leading global economy there are citizens who have to go without food to feed their children and pensioners who won?t be able to heat their homes in winter.
I made it clear that Nottingham wants the Government to take action to limit the impact that the cost of living crisis is having on people?s lives and lift people out of poverty.

More people are skipping meals, to make sure their children can eat or because they simply can?t afford food.
Food banks and community groups in your area are here to help you. Please don't feel embarrassed to ask for this help. Get a referral for a food bank by speaking to someone like a doctor, social worker, health visitor or advice centre - find out how
Due to the cost of living rising, more Nottingham people are turning to food banks. If you can afford to donate either food or money to your local food bank, it would be greatly appreciated.

The NHS in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has declared a ?critical incident? due to unprecedented pressure on its services. Our hospitals are still seeing people with Covid-19, plus high numbers of patients needing care for other conditions ? alongside extended waiting times for patients waiting for hospital beds.
The NHS is taking additional steps to prioritise and maintain safe services for patients and those with the highest level of need. This is to ensure they can continue to manage emergency care.
We can all help to support our NHS at this difficult time:
-
Visit 111: If you need urgent care that isn't an emergency, please visit NHS 111 first. You?ll get the advice you need and if you need to be seen, they can direct you to the right service. This ensures that you are being seen in the right place at the right time. Call 111 or go online at https://111.nhs.uk/
-
Urgent Treatment Centre: There is an Urgent Treatment Unit on London Road in Nottingham which people can walk into without appointment. It can treat you for minor illnesses and injuries
-
Speak to your pharmacist: If you have a minor illness such as a cough, cold, tummy trouble, sore throat, aches and pains, your nearest pharmacy can help you. You don?t need to book or to wait to be seen. If your symptoms suggest that it?s something more serious, a pharmacist can tell you what to do next.
Thank you for your support at this time.

Fantastic news that after an impressive win over Sweden in the semi-finals last night, England?s lionesses have reached the 2022 Women?s Euro final - taking them one step closer to claiming the trophy for the first time ever. I wish them all the luck, win or lose, it will be a great night of football.
