The United States Postal Service estimates it will deliver
around 800 million packages this holiday season, and UPS expects their
daily package deliveries to double, totaling 40 million per day.
This has a serious impact: With each delivery is a complex chain of
events, and a growing cloud of pollution.
It shouldn't be on you to track the impact of every step your
package took on its way to you.
Take action today, and join the growing list of American consumers
calling on companies to slash pollution from their deliveries.

Because there are already existing technologies and practices that
companies can put into place.
In the flurry of orders over the holiday season, a single product
might be transported across seas, driven cross-country, and sent to a
distribution center. Once an order is placed, it gets sent to the
final destination, entering the "last mile" delivery
stage.
This is the sweet spot where we can make the most improvements.
Because medium and heavy-duty vehicles (like large delivery trucks)
are projected to rival passenger vehicles as the largest source of
transportation greenhouse gases by 2050. But there are 3 easy steps
businesses can take to tackle this problem before it's too late:
1) Advocate for and adopt zero-emissions vehicles.
2) Provide incentives for slower shipping options over expedited
delivery.
3) Create local options for pickup and returns of online orders.
We're setting up meetings with industry leaders to ensure they
make these changes - but what will truly convince them is an
overwhelming wave of demands from American consumers.
Take action today, and we'll take the long list of Americans
calling for action to industry leaders!
