We won’t mince words, John xxxxxx: Our fundraising has slowed down significantly this month.

The reality is, most people aren’t opening emails like this one as often over the summer months. So when we saw a gap in our grassroots fundraising goal for July, we could understand why.

To Hakeem, the amount folks are able to contribute isn’t what’s most important — it’s the number of people donating that truly represents the strength of our grassroots movement.

So whether you’re able to chip in $5.50 — the cost of a roundtrip ride on the subway — or closer to our average online donation of $15, know that any amount makes a difference to Hakeem’s work to protect and expand our House majority.

Asking for donations is Hakeem’s least favorite part of the job. But grassroots support — not the influence of right-wing mega donors — will be what tips the scales this November.
