Love is love: When two adults choose to commit to one another, they should be able to trust their government to recognize their marriage.

When the Supreme Court undermined access to abortion care, they left the door open to prohibiting same-sex and interracial marriages — we are not waiting to act .

Last week, House Democrats once again countered the ultra-conservative Supreme Court’s decision to roll back Roe v. Wade with bipartisan legislation that will enshrine marriage equality into federal law.

The Respect for Marriage Act provides protections for individuals in same-sex or interracial marriages and repeals the discriminatory and unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act , which unjustly targets same-sex couples.
