Lucas is the 13-year Marine veteran running for Missouri’s open U.S.
Senate seat. Earlier this week, I learned his top primary opponent, Trudy
Busch Valentine, dumped $1 MILLION into false attack ads claiming Lucas
doesn't support my rights.

Over the last 17 months, we’ve built the most LGBTQ+ inclusive team I’ve
ever been a part of in Missouri. Lucas has had my back 100% from the
start, and he’s been a champion for all of us. Together, we sparked a
record-breaking grassroots movement to flip a Senate seat.

That’s the truth about me, Lucas, and the 18-person campaign team we’ve
put together here in Missouri. But sadly, in our broken system,
billionaire families and political elites don’t give a damn about the
truth.

They care about two things: Money and power.

That’s why a candidate like Trudy will give $5 million from her family
fortune to her own campaign, then lie to everyday people about “needing”
their support for their “grassroots” campaign.

personal investment in the race to $5 million, with $3 million coming in
recent weeks. Last quarter, the share of her fundraising that came from
small-dollar donations was 2.2%, similar to Kyrsten Sinema's 1.5%. Her
opponent, Lucas Kunce, had nearly the highest share in the whole country
at 55%.

That’s why candidates like Trudy think that it “doesn’t matter at all”
when voters have questions about their decades-long involvement in
organizations rooted in white supremacy, like the Veiled Prophet Society…

And why they can get away with launching desperately dishonest attack ads
slandering a Marine veteran like Lucas by falsely claiming he and his
queer-led campaign don’t support the LGBTQ+ community — when Trudy doesn’t
even support gender-affirming care for trans youth.

Trudy Busch Valentine and the corrupt political elites running her
campaign might not care about the truth, but the queer-led team backing
Lucas does. That’s why we issued a cease and desist to Trudy’s campaign
demanding immediate action.
