Dear Friends,
It is my pleasure to invite you to join me and my colleague, Congresswoman Sharice Davids from KS-03, for our weekly Grassroots Volunteer update tonight: Wednesday, July 27, at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT.
In January 2019, after Congresswoman Sharice Davids defeated a Republican incumbent and flipped her House seat from Red to Blue, she became one of the first two Native American women ever to serve in the U.S. Congress and the first LGBTQ member of Congress in Kansas history. Today, she is serving her second term as a successful, battle-tested, and reelected frontliner who is delivering jobs and opportunity for her constituents throughout her district and across Kansas.
We look forward to a discussion on Congresswoman Davids’ work in Congress. We'll aslo discuss the fight that is happening right now in Kansas to protect reproductive freedom in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling that took down Roe v. Wade and eviscerated the right of privacy recognized by decades of precedents.
Congresswoman Davids will tell us all about the upcoming Kansas Constitutional Amendment ballot measure that seeks to strip away the right to reproductive freedom, as well as about her hard work and leadership in protecting other rights threatened by Dobbs -- including marriage equality.
Her fight for freedom and justice is only matched by her fight to bring opportunity to every corner of her district and state. Congresswoman Davids works to secure a fair shot for workers, improve health care, preserve Native lands, and bring opportunity to underserved communities. She delivered on infrastructure for KS-03 to tackle overdue projects and create thousands of good-paying jobs locally.
Rep. Davids works every day to address the kitchen table needs of working families back home who are dealing with rising costs and supply chain issues as she delivers solutions and community investments that are bringing new American manufacturing jobs back to the heartland for the first time in a long time. Because of her leadership, historic Kansas City investments are being made to meet present needs and set a foundation for future growth by connecting workers to opportunity. Congresswoman Davids' leadership on infrastructure and focus on how the infrastructure law is being implemented throughout Kansas has made a real difference for underserved communities and an unprecedented impact in tribal communities throughout the state. Congresswoman Davids is a leader and we are thrilled to have her join us tomorrow night!
