Former Vice President Pence Visits the House of Representatives

Last week, former Vice President Mike Pence visited with House Republicans to discuss our agenda in Congress. We discussed rising prices under radical inflation and solutions to address it. We also covered priorities we are currently working on, like securing the border, increasing domestic energy production, and addressing the rise in violent crime across America. We welcome ideas that will help restore American prosperity and a secure nation. Pence shared his ideas on how we can promote a strong, principled legislative agenda to limit government, strengthen our national defense, boost America’s economy, preserve traditional values, and balance our budget.

- Franklin demands answers from the Energy Department on the sale of Strategic Petroleum Reserve's (SPR) to China: The strategic petroleum reserve (SPR) was created to mitigate supply chain disruptions due to major emergencies. In the wake of restricted U.S. energy supply and global events, the Biden administration has tapped the SPR to try to lower gas prices. Last week, I joined my House Oversight GOP colleagues to ask Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm why some of our limited reserves were sold to China. Click here to read the full letter.
- The House passes Kissimmee River bill: Last week, the House passed a bill to include the Kissimmee River among potential additions to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. I was a cosponsor of this bill with Representative Darren Soto (FL-09). Click here for the full text of the bill.

Last week, the Carter family from Lakeland visited our Washington, D.C. office. They received a staff lead Capitol tour and an inside look into operations on Capitol Hill. If you are visiting D.C. and would like a staff lead tour, click here for more information. Due to the high volume of requests, we recommend all U.S. Capitol tour requests be submitted at least three months in advance of your tour date for consideration.
