Our opponent, Ken Buck, has been on the warpath against what he considers America’s Public Enemy #1: teachers.

During a hearing on mass shootings and assault weapons, he suggested that the reason why there are mass shootings and “evil people” in the world is because “the Democratic Party is held captive by teachers’ unions.”

Putting aside how either teachers’ unions or the Democratic Party would be responsible for the existence of evil, it is perfectly clear what Buck is trying to do: advance his extreme anti-education agenda and rally fellow Right-wing extremists by blaming school shootings on those who have dedicated their lives to teaching our children.

Ike is fed up with these attacks on teachers, at a time when educators are increasingly leaving the workforce because of lack of support and political interference in their jobs.
