Over the last 15 years — when Roe v. Wade was still intact — more than
1,300 women were investigated, detained, or arrested for seeking out
abortions or even having miscarriages!

That number is poised to SKYROCKET in the immediate future. It’s a crisis
of unprecedented magnitude.

But District Attorneys are one of the few local leaders capable of holding
back this flood of prosecutions — even outright REFUSING to prosecute
women for seeking abortions — thanks to the unique power that their
offices possess.

This makes pro-choice DAs Public Enemy #1 to the right-wing mob. We’re
already seeing millions spent on attack ads going up on TV. It’s only
going to get worse.

The attacks against progressive District Attorneys had already reached
record-highs in the last year. We saw it with Larry Krasner in 2020. We
saw it with Chesa Boudin over the last two years.

Now take that threat and multiply it by 10.

The same DAs who were enduring endless attacks by police unions and
crooked billionaires are now fighting against anti-choice extremists, too.

That’s why we launched our DA Abortion Defense Fund last month — a special
campaign to pool resources together in order to protect our elected DAs,
and elect new pro-choice DAs nationwide. 

But the fund puts a lot of financial strain on our budget. We’re
supporting 24 elected DAs already, and are pushing for 7 more to be
elected this year. Two of our DAs in Texas also have serious challenges
against conservatives. It’ll take everything we have to fund these
campaigns and win big in November.
