Last Wednesday, the House Homeland Security Committee held a hearing about election security, specifically regarding threats to election officials and infrastructure. During the hearing, I raised numerous concerns about the radical changes that were made ahead of the 2020 election, attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic. Partisan officials in states like Pennsylvania – and even our home state of Georgia – drastically altered election laws, creating a scenario ripe for fraud and abuse.
Now, Democrats want to make matters worse by federalizing our elections. I remain dedicated to strengthening election integrity, which is why I asked Ohio Secretary of State, Frank LaRose, to explain how Democrats’ legislation, H.R. 4064, would impose burdensome requirements and impact Americans’ faith in our election process. Additionally, the Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Government Operations held a hearing to examine the future of the federal workforce. As a small business owner myself, I fully understand that a company is only as good as its workers – which is why accountability is crucial to ensuring employees efficiently and effectively conduct their work. Yet many federal employees have failed to return to work – over two and a half years after the start of COVID-19. Mass teleworking in the federal workforce has resulted in Americans, especially our veterans, receiving inadequate service and facing inexcusable delays. In fact, a quarter of Health and Human Services employees – roughly 20,000 workers – didn't even bother to check their email during the pandemic. I find this outrageous, which is why I asked the Office of Personnel Management Director, Kiran Ahuja, if she finds this behavior acceptable. Please click the video below to watch the full exchange.

Following the Biden Administration’s Ministry of Truth being shut down due to rightful outrage and criticism, it appears National Public Radio (NPR) is carrying the mantle for the Left’s war on Americans’ First Amendment rights. The left-leaning news organization recently announced a vague initiative, the “Disinformation Reporting team,” which immediately raised eyebrows and questions. After suppressing the truth about Hunter Biden ahead of the 2020 election, it is naive to believe NPR can conduct any operations in a non-partisan manner — especially policing rhetoric that contradicts their liberal narrative.
In response, I led over a dozen of my colleagues in a letter to the President and CEO of NPR, John Lansing, raising concerns about NPR’s track record of spreading disinformation and demanding answers about the media organization’s troubling initiative. American taxpayer dollars should not be funding blatantly biased reporting or efforts to conceal credible news, which is why it’s far past time we provide the American people with the answers they deserve and hold NPR accountable for conducting nefarious “journalism” to advance the radical Left’s agenda.

Rep. Clyde Hosts Telephone Town Hall
|
Last Thursday, I hosted my third telephone town hall of the year, where I was glad to be joined by over 3,500 Ninth District residents! We covered a range of topics such as hyperinflation, President Biden’s anti-American energy policies, and my RETURN our Constitutional Rights Act, which I introduced to further protect our Second Amendment rights.
If you’ve attended one of my telephone town halls, then you know I like to poll participants to gauge their thoughts on certain issues so that I can make sure that I am factoring Ninth District residents’ thoughts into the critical policy decisions I make in Washington. This time around, I asked three poll questions, and I’d like to take the opportunity to share the results with you.
Poll Question #1: Are you financially better off or worse off now than you were a year ago?
|
Poll Question #2: Do you support or oppose additional gun control measures?
|
Poll Question #3: Do you support or oppose vaccine mandates in the military?
|
Staying connected with the great people of Georgia’s Ninth district is very important to me. If I missed your question during last week’s telephone town hall, it was because so many thoughtful questions were asked that I did not have time to address them all in the hour we had together. If you were not able to participate but would like to ask me a question, you can always fill out the contact form on my website and a member of my staff will be in touch.

Gun-grabbing Democrats are coming after our Second Amendment rights yet again. From the Oversight and Reform Committee hearing to vilify firearm manufacturers to the illogical and unconstitutional “Assault Weapons Ban Act,” House Democrats are taking aim at Americans’ unalienable right to keep and bear arms this week. As a staunch defender of the Second Amendment, I look forward to continue fighting the Left’s tyranny and unveiling the truth behind their thinly veiled scheme to disarm our great nation. For regular updates on this week’s happenings, please follow along on Facebook, Instagram, Gettr, and Twitter.
