I’m at the hospital today, and I wanted to talk to you about something that’s been on my mind. Last week, a 6 week abortion ban came into effect in South Carolina, and there’s a movement to make it even more extreme by removing any protections in the case of rape, incest, or the life of the woman being in jeopardy.
Back when she was in the state legislature, Nancy Mace helped draft this draconian law. Now, she’s voted against codifying Roe and passing the Violence Against Women Act.
No matter how she is trying to spin her choices now, the fact is the ONLY woman Nancy Mace has ever fought for is Nancy Mace.
It’s time for Mace and her anti-abortion colleagues to go. It’s time to elect a real leader for women, girls, and everyone who finds themselves in really tough situations.

As I treat my patients today in the pediatrics wing, I continue to think of young girls who will have to travel to other states because the law won’t allow them to have abortions here and those who might not be able to afford to do that.
It is a travesty and politicians like Mace have to be held accountable at the ballot box.
