I want you to meet Leaundra Sanders, the newest member of our team:

"I am enthused about the impressive body of work that the Coalition on Human Needs has encompassed since its inception. I am even more grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this great legacy of advocacy through serving as the new Voter Engagement Project Coordinator. It is my hope that my tenure will help move the needle for voter education and resources in communities across the U.S."  

Resources for voters are needed now more than ever. Since the 2020 election, 19 states have passed voter suppression bills. We know these bills disproportionately impact the most marginalized communities—communities of color, low-income communities, LGBTQ+ communities, and rural communities. I know we often say there’s a lot at stake in this year's election, and this year there truly is.

All across the country candidates who want to suppress our votes even further (and who continue to parrot the line that the 2020 election was stolen—which it was not) are running for offices up and down the ballot. These are candidates who will ultimately have control over the creation and enforcement of voting laws and regulations in their states. And they will also make decisions about whether to invest in education, housing, health care and many other critically needed programs.

There’s too much at stake this November. That’s why we’re running an aggressive Voter Engagement Campaign to ensure people turn out and vote for human needs this year. Contribute $5 today to help fight back against voter suppression and ensure everyone’s voice is heard.

Thanks to the expansion of our Voter Engagement team, we’re expanding the ways we can help people access their right to vote—creating fact sheets, hosting webinars, and providing Spanish translations, setting up voter ID clinics and coordinating rides for voters from homeless shelters, and reaching out to voters in rural areas, including rural Georgia.
