Have You Accessed Behavioral Health Crisis Services for Your Child Up to the Age of 24? Your Feedback Is Important!
In November of 2021, MCF sent out a survey to families asking about their use of behavioral health crisis services in the last three years for a youth under the age of 21. Thank you to all who responded. There was so much national interest in our survey that a new (but similar) survey was created by the Family-Run Executive Director Leadership Assocation (FREDLA) and the Institute for Innovation and Implementation at the University of Maryland School of Social work to distribute nationally, in order to gauge differences among states and measure change over time as states work to improve their behavioral health crisis services for children and youth.
Some of the changes made to the new survey include asking about families' use of crisis services for a child or youth up to the age of 24 (MCF's survey asked about the last three years). Please take a few minutes to complete this survey so that your feedback can be used on a national level.
Survey responses are anonymous, and no one will be able to identify or trace any person who responds to the survey. Results will be used to inform the development of effective and responsive crisis systems for children and youth with mental health or substance use emergencies. Crisis services include law enforcement, crisis hotlines or text lines, mobile crisis teams, walk-in centers and hospital emergency departments. The survey will remain open until July 30, 2022.
