John,
Last week, the House voted to codify the right to same-sex and interracial marriage by passing the Respect for Marriage Act.
Here’s the good news: 47 Republicans joined the Democratic majority to pass this crucial legislation. It's a historic moment when both sides of the aisle came together to protect the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans. In today’s political climate, that’s nothing short of a miracle.
Unfortunately, there’s also bad news: 157 Republicans voted AGAINST this bill, including the Central Valley's very own Kevin McCarthy.
John, I’m not surprised by this. But I am disgusted.
The current Supreme Court currently has Obergefell v. Hodges in their crosshairs, and McCarthy’s head-in-the-sand mentality all but guarantees that more rights will be stripped from us if we don’t fight like hell to unseat him in November.
I firmly support the right to same-sex marriage, and I’ll never stop fighting to protect the wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community. If you’re with me, chip in $5 or more to help us DEFEAT Kevin McCarthy.

Kevin McCarthy's "no" vote on the Respect for Marriage Act is playing right into the hand of far- right conservatives. I believe your choice to marry who you want shouldn't be up to out-of-touch politicians. That freedom belongs to you.
Help us defeat Kevin McCarthy and his anti-LGBTQ+ agenda by chipping in whatever you can today >>
Thank you for all you do,
