We will ask the question again: Is there anyone in the world other than Joe Biden, and his climate “czar” John Kerry who actually believes the Chinese government cares about climate change?
China built or oversaw the construction of more than half of new coal power plants last year, even as President Xi joined nearly 200 other world leaders in pledging an end to the use of coal at the latest climate summit. These global leaders are more delusional than Neville Chamberlain.
China’s coal companies have been asked to increase output by 300 million more tons this year. The country relies on coal for 60 percent of its electricity needs. Does it sound to you like China is "decarbonizing"?
Forgive us if you’ve already heard about these results from a couple of weeks ago, but they are SO indicative of how out of touch Washington is with the rest of the country, we just had to report them.
The New York Times/Siena College poll released earlier this month showed that exactly one percent of Americans rate climate change as their biggest concern. Yes, one out of one hundred. In the Biden White House, that number is probably closer to 70%. It’s all they talk about – except when they change the subject to their other fixation: inequality.
Amazingly the percentage of Hispanics who rank climate change their number one concern rounds to a big fat ZERO. What ARE Hispanics concerned most about? The economy and inflation.
Here are the results for all respondents and for Hispanics:
What do you think is the most important problem facing the country today?
Amazingly, these results came at the very start of a major heat wave. You’ve got to love the New York Times headline analysis (below) of these results – and their slap at our hero Joe Manchin – which indicates the editors are very baffled by these results:
3) Minneapolis Does A 180 Degree Turn From Defund The Police To Give Them More Money
This amazing graphic shows how the issue of Defunding The Police has come full circle in Minneapolis, the city where the movement began as riots erupted in the wake of George Floyd's killing in 2020.
Since then, the story has followed a sad, if predictable, pattern. The next chapter may well be written in November when the midterm electorate will have a say on the direction of law enforcement.
4) Starbucks CEO Says More Stores To Close Because Of Rampant Crime
Last week, we reported that Starbucks was reversing its 2017 policy to force store managers to let anyone come into their store, use the bathroom, and effectively camp out without buying anything. It also announced it would close 16 profitable stores that had been overrun by the homeless, petty criminals, and drug users in progressive cities like Seattle, Philadelphia, and New York.
Now Starbucks CEO Howard Schulz has told employees that “America has become unsafe” and that the company will take further steps to close stores and protect its staff and customers. “Many more” store closures are coming, he says.
Schultz is a lifelong Democrat, he launched a brief campaign for president in 2020 as a “common sense” independent. He now has no tolerance for “woke” elected leaders:
"At the local, state, and federal level, these leaders, mayors, and governors and city councils have abdicated their responsibility in fighting crime and addressing mental illness."
5) Pediatric Hepatitis Mystery Solved – It Was Lockdown, Not COVID
Health officials were quick to blame COVID for mysterious cases of severe liver disease that appeared earlier this year in children all over the world. It looks like they were wrong.
The BBC reports:
The two teams of researchers, from London and Glasgow, say infants exposed later than normal - because of Covid restrictions - missed out on some early immunity to:
adenovirus, which normally causes colds and stomach upsets
adeno-associated virus two, which normally causes no illness and requires a coinfecting "helper" virus - such as adenovirus - to replicate
Scientists have ruled out any connection with coronavirus or Covid vaccines.
One of the investigators, Prof Judith Breuer, an expert in virology, at University College London and Great Ormond Street Hospital, said: "During the lockdown period when children were not mixing, they were not transmitting viruses to each other.
"They were not building up immunity to the common infections they would normally encounter.
"When the restrictions were lifted, children began to mix, viruses began to circulate freely - and they suddenly were exposed with this lack of prior immunity to a whole battery of new infections."
The BBC also included this heartbreaking quote from the mom of a little boy named Noah who needed a liver transplant and will be on medication for the rest of his life:
