Landowner perceptions of climate change and implications for management in family woodlands

Calling all woodland owners!

We want to hear from you! Have you taken any actions on your land to address climate change? Has climate change altered your relationship with your woods? Are you interested in learning more about forest management and climate change?

Peter Breigenzer (Graduate Assistant, School of Forest Resources), under the mentorship of Dr. Jessica Leahy (Professor, School of Forest Resources) at the University of Maine want to interview family woodland owners about their perceptions of climate change and forest management. The purpose of this study is to understand how climate change is altering the ways that Maine?s family woodland owners plan to manage their forests. This research project is necessary for understanding how perceptions of climate change may impact future land use, wildlife habitat, and timber supply in family woodlands.

If you own 10-1,000 acres of forest and want to share your experiences ? either what you?ve done or what you may do in the future related to climate change ? we would love to talk with you! *If you have questions or if you would like to participate in this study, please email **[email protected]* <[email protected]>* for more information.*

"This study is completely voluntary and all information will be kept confidential. Interviews will last 60 to 75 minutes and will ideally take place while walking through your woodland property. If a walking interview is not possible, we ask that you suggest a comfortable place for us to meet. The audio from interviews will be recorded to enhance the research process. You must be at least 18 years old to participate. "
