This year Republicans have made great strides in restoring common sense policies in the Commonwealth. We at the Republican Party of Virginia want to highlight the fantastic work our Delegates and Senators in the General Assembly were able to accomplish this past session.
The first significant accomplishment we would like to highlight is freshman Delegate Karen Greenhalgh's HB873. This bipartisan bill requires every local school division to establish a direct line of communication with local Law Enforcement to enhance school safety. In a time where this is needed more than ever, this common-sense solution will keep all our students enrolled in a safer school environment.
Out of the entire Virginia Public School system, 38% do not have a School Resource Officer. When Governor Glenn Youngkin was elected, he quickly asked the Legislature to get to work and bridge the gap, and Delegate Greenhalgh acted.
