Amazon customers in major cities might see Rivian trucks delivering their merchandise as the company begins deploying electric delivery vehicles. Amazon plans to have the EV delivery trucks in 100 cities by the end of the year and a national fleet by 2030.
Amazon's announcement of its $3.9 billion deal to acquire 1LifeHealthcare and its primary care company One Medical has sparked privacy concerns pertaining to customer data. Amazon has said One Medical's customer data will not be shared without a customer's permission and that if the deal closes, One Medical's customer data will be handled separately from other Amazon businesses.

Artificial intelligence can help distributors increase customer loyalty and share of wallet by helping customers reorder what they are currently purchasing, suggesting substitutes for out-of-stock items and showing them other items they may be interested in, Proton.ai CEO and founder Benj Cohen writes. "AI can help you understand your customers better, so you protect your current share, fill service gaps and position yourself as their go-to distributor," Cohen writes.

The Port of Los Angeles moved a record-breaking 876,611 20-foot equivalent units in June while reducing the number of ships awaiting berth by 80% since the beginning of 2022. Executive Director Gene Seroka doesn't expect any setbacks from recent trucker strikes, but noted, "we've got to get the cargo picked up at the inland rail facilities by our importers much quicker than they've been doing thus far."
